The Alabama Power Foundation is dedicated to uplifting and honoring those who have served in the armed forces. With more than 375,000 veterans living in Alabama, the Foundation partners with organizations that provide vital resources—ranging from basic needs to career and educational support—to facilitate a successful transition to civilian life and encourage continued personal and professional growth.

The strength and resilience shown by military heroes serve as powerful inspiration, reflecting the enduring values at the heart of our nation. In 2024, our commitment was demonstrated through nearly $200,000 in grants awarded to organizations that support veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families.

These funds went to groups such as Three Hots and a Cot, which offers housing, transportation, job readiness and community to unhoused veterans in Birmingham as they work toward independence. Support also extended to the Alabama Marines Foundation, an organization focused on honoring and aiding Alabama’s Marine veterans, active-duty members, reservists and their loved ones through partnerships with service-based nonprofits.

In the Town of Munford and the City of Creola, efforts are underway to create lasting tributes to those who served, with the Foundation proudly contributing to memorial projects, ensuring veterans’ sacrifices are remembered and revered.

Looking ahead, the Foundation is committed to nurturing future leaders in the armed forces by supporting Junior ROTC programs at Auburn High School and Southside High School, as well as the Gathering of Eagles Foundation, which awards ROTC scholarships.

By investing in organizations and initiatives like the ones listed, the Alabama Power Foundation reaffirms its deep appreciation for those who have defended the nation’s freedom and security.
