Run for the Reason

Run for the Reason

Alabama Power employees have helped raise more than $300,000 in the past decade to aid the American Cancer Society by joining the Run for the Reason.

Run for the Reason is a two-and-a-half-day, 350-mile continuous run across Alabama. Employee volunteers take turns in the leapfrog-style relay that begins Thursday, April 16 at the Alabama/Georgia state line and ends at Dauphin Island on Saturday, April 18. Each runner covers 4-mile increments every 12 hours to total about 20 miles through the duration of the event.

Four volunteer drivers will pilot an RV and other vehicles that accompany the runners throughout the state for the 13th annual run.
