About the Energizers

The Energizers group is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization consisting of Alabama Power and Southern Company retirees and their spouses who are committed to serve the communities of Alabama in an unselfish manner.

Hitting it out of the park

Energizers volunteers designed the plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems for a community ballpark, saving thousands of dollars and helping create an enjoyable place for baseball fans of all ages.

Who we are and what we do

Combining socializing with a social conscience, Alabama Power’s Energizers have fun and make a difference in their communities. In addition to holding regular meetings where members can enjoy fellowship and food with former coworkers, Energizers contribute their time and talents to a variety of communities and charitable projects.

Each year, Alabama Power’s Energizers contribute more than 40,000 volunteer hours to worthy projects across the state. From building playgrounds at schools, helping with Habitat for Humanity projects, delivering meals, volunteering at hospitals and nursing homes, and assisting with adult literacy programs, the Energizers are very involved.

Energizers membership is open to all Alabama Power and Southern Company retirees and their spouses.

Project LifeSaver

Project LifeSaver is a service administered by state troopers that equips people with Alzheimer’s, Down syndrome, autism and other cognitive disorders with a location-tracking bracelet. Should a person wearing a Project LifeSaver bracelet get lost, the bracelet helps their loved ones find them and bring them home.

Alabama was one of the first states in the country to have all counties equipped and local officials trained to participate in Project LifeSaver.

Alabama Power’s Energizers group is currently the largest single contributor to Project LifeSaver in the world.

Since 2012, Energizers have been responsible for raising more than $90,000 for Project LifeSaver.
