About

The Alabama Power Foundation was created in 1989 with funds donated by Alabama Power shareholders. That seed money, along with additional donations over the next seven years, came from voluntary contributions and includes no ratepayer dollars. Through wise management, the foundation’s assets have grown to more than $125 million. Income earned from those funds is used to support a variety of grants and initiatives across Alabama.

Through this site and our other initiatives, we strive to bring good to all Alabamians and all corners of the state. We do this by connecting people committed to change to the resources and information they need to make a difference. The Power of Good is one such initiative. We will be updating and adding information to this site regularly, so please bookmark powerofgood.com and come back to see us often. Thank you for your interest in bringing good to our state.

Together, we can make a difference.
